In reaction to the call for letter of intent (LoI) for large- and medium-scale astronomical/astrophysical projects in the coming ~10 years, which was issued by the astronomy and astrophysics subcommittee of The Science Council of Japan (SCJ), we submitted a LoI on our LST project. This is an initial step of the formal process to establish "Master Plan 2020", which describes highest priority academic projects/missions in the future (during 2020s to early 2030s). This is somewhat similar to the US decadal survey (Astro2020), but this activity to establish "the master plan" by SCJ happens every 3 years. The astronomy and astrophysics subcommittee of SCJ will organize the first symposium for Master Plan 2020 discussion on 13 September 2018, which will mainly discuss "large-scale" projects, and then have the 2nd symposium on 17-18 January 2019, to continue discussions including "medium-scale" missions. It has been expected that the recommendation of candidate Master Plan 2020 projects/missions will be made by the end of January 2019, and the formal approval of the Master Plan 2020 will be made by the early 2020.
